(STATS) - One of the overwhelming storylines of the 2019 college football season will be the sport's 150th anniversary celebration.
Leading up to and throughout the season, schools and conferences from all divisions and other initiatives will celebrate the collegiate game that began with Princeton and Rutgers playing the first game on Nov. 6, 1869. The commemoration will showcase the rich history and traditions of the sport and its positive impact on lives and communities, while also promoting the opportunity it continues to provide to thousands of student-athletes.
Nearly 900 programs will be provided with CFB150 logos to show their support. ESPN will conclude its year-long initiative next January with the announcement of an all-time All-America team.
A comprehensive lineup of events can be found at the website cfb150.org.
