BRONX, N.Y. (AP) Tim DeMorat threw for two touchdowns and ran for another score as Fordham edged Richmond 23-16 on Saturday.
Fordham trailed 13-10 late in the third quarter when DeMorat capped a 75-yard drive with a short touchdown throw to Fotis Kokosioulis with 3:30 left. The Rams (2-3) missed the extra-point try, leaving them with a 16-13 lead. DeMorat closed out the quarter with a 3-yard scoring run to make it 23-13.
A Jake Larson field goal early in the fourth pulled Richmond within 23-16. Andrew Mevis tried to answer for the Rams but missed his 25-yard attempt.
DeMorat was 20-of-30 passing for 142 yards passing for the Rams. Both of his touchdown throws went to Kokosioulis who finished with 45 yards receiving. Zach Davis ran for 146 yards on 13 carries and Mevis kicked a 41-yard field goal late in the second quarter.
Beau English threw for a career-best 298 yards with a score for the Spiders (1-3). Charlie Fessler had 150 yards and a touchdown on eight catches.
