CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) Byron Smith hit a 3-pointer with less than a second to go, Nick Caldwell came off the bench to tally 19 points and Southeastern Louisiana defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 78-75 on Monday night.
Caldwell hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 75 with 48 seconds to go. Simeon Fryer missed a shot for the Islanders with 24 seconds to go. The Lions ran the clock down with the ball in Jondarius Warren's hands. Warren attack the basket and kicked the ball out to Smith in the right corner and he smoothly knocked it down as time ran out.
Isiah Kirby had 16 points and six assists for Southeastern Louisiana (7-13, 5-7 Southland Conference). Gus Okafor added 13 points and nine rebounds. Joe Kasperzyk had 11 points.
Jalen White had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Islanders (4-16, 1-10). De'Lazarus Keys added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Fryer, who was hurt on the final play, had 10 points.
