COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) Chris Joyce scored 15 points and hit three 3-pointers, Lavelle Scottie added 12 points with seven rebounds and Air Force beat NAIA member Johnson & Wales (CO) 90-65 Tuesday night to win its 12th straight season opener, downing the Wildcats for the fifth straight time.
The lead changed hands three times early before Scottie's 3-pointer sparked a 19-6 run capped by Keaton Van Soelen's dunk and the Falcons pulled ahead 50-32 at halftime on another 3 by Scottie.
Swan's layup capped a 12-2 run to open the second half and the Falcons steadily pulled away, finishing with 22 assists and shooting 9 of 16 from long distance (61 percent).
Jontrell Herman scored 25 points with four steals for the Wildcats and Andrew Romero III added 20 points.
