Kansas edges 'Nova in Final Four rematch

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Lagerald Vick had never watched last season's Final Four loss to Villanova before this week, when top-ranked Kansas had to endure every minute of it while prepping for Saturday's game against the Wildcats.

"We watched it for like, a week straight," Vick said. "It was definitely hard."

He'll have better memories of the rematch.


No. 3 Tennessee runs past Memphis 102-92

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Admiral Schofield popped his Tennessee jersey to the Memphis fans who had been screaming at him throughout the game.

The rivalry between Tennessee's top basketball programs is back on, and the Volunteers have the upper hand for now.


Old Dominion rallies by No. 25 Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) B.J. Stith scored all of his 18 points in the second half, and Old Dominion overcame an 11-point second-half deficit to stun No. 25 Syracuse 68-62 on Saturday.

Xavier Green had 15 points and Marquis Godwin added 11 for the Monarchs (8-3), who trailed by 13 points late in the first half and by 11 early in the second before rallying for their sixth straight victory.


No. 15 Ohio St. holds off Bucknell 73-71

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Kaleb Wesson had a career-high 22 points and No. 15 Ohio State held off a Bucknell comeback to win 73-71 Saturday.

Ohio State went on an 11-2 run to take an 11-point with under 10 minutes remaining, but Bucknell stormed back to within three with a 10-2 run and late 3-pointer by Avi Toomer. The Bison got the ball with 14 seconds left but a 3-point try by Bruce Moore hit the front of the rim and Ohio State survived.


UNC seeks improvement on D vs. Gonzaga

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) North Carolina can score the basketball. Roy Williams just needs the 12th ranked Tar Heels to do a better job of keeping opponents from doing the same.

They can't afford any defensive lapses - whether it's struggling to handle a screen or pressure a ballhandler - with fourth-ranked Gonzaga coming to Chapel Hill on Saturday night.


Irish beat Purdue in Crossroads Classic

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Notre Dame finally played the way coach Mike Brey wanted.

They worked hard, shot well and they demonstrated they could deliver a knockout punch, too.


McMurray leads SMU over Georgetown 81-73

WASHINGTON (AP) Jahmal McMurray scored 19 points, Isiaha Mike and Ethan Chargois had 17 apiece and SMU defeated Georgetown 81-73 on Saturday.

McMurray had four 3-pointers and Chargois three as the Mustangs (7-4) went 10 of 25 from distance while the Hoyas (7-3) were 4 of 18.


Princeton rallies to beat Iona 85-81

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) Devin Cannady scored 22 points with six 3-pointers, including a go-ahead 3 with 1:31 left, and Princeton rallied to beat Iona 85-81 on Saturday at the Air Force Reserve Hall of Fame Boardwalk Classic.

Jaelin Llewellyn set career highs with 22 points and eight assists and Jose Morales added 12 points with five assists for the Tigers (5-4), who trailed 31-30 at halftime and by 11 with 8:54 to play.


Wilson-Frame leads Pitt over UMES 78-43

PITTSBURGH (AP) Senior guard Jared Wilson-Frame recorded his first double-double of the season and Pittsburgh rolled over Maryland-Eastern Shore, 78-43 on Saturday.

Coming off the bench, Wilson-Frame had 11 points and was 3 of 7 from beyond the 3-point line. He also led the Panthers with 11 rebounds. Point guard Xavier Johnson led the Panthers with 12 points.


NC State gives Keatts new 6-year deal

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) North Carolina State has given basketball coach Kevin Keatts a new contract through the 2023-24 season.

The school's board of governors on Friday approved the six-year deal that will pay him $2.7 million per year - an increase of $400,000 from his previous salary.
